Hi team,

I finish configuring the payroll but when I tried to run it. I have warnings: Account Journal not configured on Structure 

I have Salary journal and I dont understand what the warning about.

Please help.

Hello, 

This warning usually appears when the Salary Structure is not properly linked to an Accounting Journal, even if a salary journal exists in the system.

Please check the following:

  • Go to Payroll → Configuration → Salary Structures
  • Open your structure (e.g., Sanitation/Cleaner)
  • Ensure the Salary Journal field is properly set
  • Also verify that your salary rules have proper Debit/Credit accounts configured

Even if the journal exists, Odoo requires it to be explicitly assigned at the structure level for accounting entries to work correctly.

Hi,

This warning means that the salary structure is missing an accounting journal, not the general salary journal you created.
In Odoo Payroll, each Salary Structure must have a Journal set in the Accounting tab, otherwise payslips cannot be posted.
Go to Payroll > Configuration > Salary Structures, open your structure, and check the “Journal” field.
Even if you already created a salary journal, you must explicitly assign it to the structure, otherwise Odoo will still show this warning.
Also verify that the selected journal is of type “Miscellaneous” or “General”, as required for payroll entries.
After setting the journal, save and re-run payroll - the warning should disappear and accounting entries will be generated correctly.
