Has anyone done this with 3rd party module installed?

I have uninstalled them and removed the folders, but anytime a rebuild occurs, all these modules come back. I have script that changes their state so I don't need to uninstall every time, but they are still there. 

I would like to have clean database to upgrade from, but I do not want to have to re-do all the web pages, accounting, etc. 

How can I completely remove these 3rd party apps? My thought is to get everything working in the sandbox then move it over to production, but I do not want those apps.

Hello Sean,

We recently delivered an Odoo upgrade project from V16-v19, which is on Odoo.sh:

If the modules keep coming back after uninstall, it usually means the addons path still contains them or the database still has references.

Make sure to:

  1. Remove the module folders from the addons path.

  2. Restart Odoo and update the apps list.

  3. Ensure the modules are not listed in the server config addons_path.

  4. If needed, remove their records from ir_module_module (only if they are fully uninstalled).

Doing this in a sandbox first and then upgrading the cleaned database to production is a good approach.
