I'm experiencing an error in Odoo enterprise 19, i have a personalized group for delivery route drivers so they can view sales orders but cannot create or modify any orders. This group has been working since last year when we were on Odoo 18, until last week. Now it shows the following error when one of the users in the group tries to enter any order.

Access Error
You do not have the necessary permissions to access the "reinvoiced_sale_order_id" field in Projects (project.project). Contact your system administrator.
Operation: read
User: 78

Groups: Allowed for the 'Sales / User: only show own documents' group

I contacted support on the live chat and the agent told me it was an error of the platform, opened a ticket but the agent assigned told me it was because of the custom group and that wasn´t able to help.

I added the group to the model project.project access rights tab.

I added the field reinvoiced_sale_order_id in the group access rigth tab.

But nothing works.

Hello
When a driver opens or views a Sales Order, Odoo automatically looks in the background to see if there are any related tasks or projects linked to that order.
To find these projects, Odoo's system performs an internal search across the database using a field called reinvoiced_sale_order_id.
**Responsible method for this warning: def_compute_project_ids(self)
Options to resolve this:
→ Updating the driver group's access permissions to give them "Read-Only" clearance for the background project model OR
→ Applying a minor backend code adjustment in the relative method.

This behavior is likely related to changes introduced in Odoo 19 or a recent update where Sales Orders now trigger access to linked Project fields in the background.

Since the error specifically mentions reinvoiced_sale_order_id on project.project, granting access to the field alone is usually not sufficient. The affected users must also have the necessary read access to the related Project records and any record rules that apply to them.

I would recommend reviewing:

  • Access rights on the project.project model
  • Record rules for the custom driver group
  • Any inherited views or customizations that expose project-related information from Sales Orders

Since the same configuration worked in Odoo 18, comparing the security settings and view changes after the upgrade may help identify the dependency that was introduced.
