Hi,


I have been trying to develop a multiwarehouse system using Odoo where there will be two warehouses (Let's say warehouse A and B). I see that there are sales and purchase modules that allow users to send a purchase/sales order. But I want something a bit different. 


I want users to request an internal warehouse transfer so that a product can be transferred from warehouse A to B.


Let's say we have a product 'Red Flower'. Warehouse A has 20 in quantity and B has 5. If someone ordered an internal request of 10 red flowers from Warehouse A to B and the order gets validated, 10 red flowers will be moved from A => B.


I don't need any automatic process, I need the manual action. Is it possible Using Oddo?

Yes this can be done in Odoo.

For a clear understanding, you have to create a new Operation Type.

Go to Inventory ->Operation Type ->Create 

Name it as “WH A to WH B” and select the Type of Operation as Internal Transfer

Give a Short code.

Select the Default Source Location as WH A/Stock and

 Default Destination Location as WH B/Stock. And save it.

Now whenever you need to generate inter-warehouse transfer you have to go to 

   Inventory ->Operations -> Transfers and Click on create

Select the Operation Type as “WH A to WH B” that you have created and select the product as well as the quantity you want to transfer.

If you need , you can create another operation type for transfer from WH B to WH A likewise.

Do you mean to do a replenishment that is not automatic? So when a product goes below a certain quantity in a warehouse users (who probably have access to only those warehouse operations) can request for more to be transferred? 


If that is the case then in addition to creating a new operation as others have suggested you need to create a new route that pulls from your WHA to WHB and set it so it can be selected on products. Then when products are needed in a WHB it can be ordered from the replenishment page by manually putting in the quantity and selecting your new route. A new picking with the appropriate operation will automatically be created and will be in ready state.

You can go to the menu: Inventory / Operations / Transfers

Create a new one, and fill the required fields. Choose "Warehouse (A or B) - Internal Transfer" as "Operation Type". Be sure to give a proper value to the other fields.

We are running a similar operation, and want to create a demand based internal transfer system between our warehouses.
