يُعنى المركز بدراسة وتحليل القضايا والظواهر الاجتماعية وتقديم الرؤى والاقتراحات والتوصيات بشأنها، وتزويد الجهات الحكوميةالمعنية بنتائج البحوث والدراسات والإحصاءات والمعلومات التي تساعدها على وضع الخطط واتخاذ القرارات المتعلقة بأوجه التنميةالاجتماعية المختلفة. ويؤمل أن يقوم المركز بمواكبة آخر التطورات والمستجدات على الصعيد الاجتماعي، ويسهم في اقتراح وتحديدأفضل السبل للاستجابة لمختلف الظواهر الاجتماعية في الوقت الحاضر، واستشراف تغيراتها المستقبلية، كما يؤمل أن يكون للمركزدور في صياغة الإستراتيجيات المتعلقة بحماية النسيج الاجتماعي للمجتمع السعودي وتطويره، إضافة إلى تدريب العاملين فيالحقل الاجتماعي، وعقد الندوات العلمية وورش العمل للمختصين والمهتمين بالعلوم الاجتماعية في المجتمع السعودي والخليجيوالعربي.
NCSS’s role is to monitor, study, analyze social issues and phenomena and provide recommendations pertaining to their effects. NCSS also provides relevant governmental bodies with studies results and statistics, and other information that will help in devising plans and making decisions relevant to the different aspects of social development.
NCSS functions as a consulting and expertise establishment specialized in handling different social issues and phenomena, empowering scientific research society involved in the social field, communicating and coordinating with relevant parties and collaborating with international social databases.

OPAL — Oman Society for Petroleum Services OPAL started as a concept in 1998, whereby like-minded companies embarked on a vision to promote industry standards. OPAL is the first Society in Oman’s Petroleum Industry to be officially approved and registered in the Sultanate. On the 27th of October 2001, OPAL was officially approved under the regulations governing the formation of societies with the Ministry of Social Development as a non-profit organization. Ombudsman du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg
