Odoo Implementation Case Study: Edge Services & Solutions 

Introduction

Workforce Automation & HR Excellence

One of the client’s primary goals was to digitize HR processes. We deployed Odoo’s HR module to cover:

  • Payroll Management: Automated salary structures, allowances, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Attendance Tracking: Integrated ZK bio-metric machines with Odoo to capture real-time employee check-ins and check-outs. This eliminated manual attendance sheets and reduced errors.

  • Time-Off Management: Employees could request leave directly through Odoo, with managers approving or rejecting requests in the system. This streamlined communication and record-keeping.

By integrating bio-metric devices, Edge Services & Solution gained precise visibility into workforce data. Payroll processing became faster, more accurate, and transparent, reducing administrative overhead and improving employee satisfaction.

Policy-Driven Procurement

Procurement was another critical area for improvement. The client wanted strict adherence to its P2P policy. We implemented Odoo’s Purchase module to achieve:

  • Vendor Management: Centralized vendor records with assigned accounts payable, ensuring accountability.

  • Automated Requisitions: Employees could raise purchase requests directly in Odoo, which were routed for approval based on policy rules.

  • PO-to-Bill Workflow: Once a purchase order was confirmed, vendor bills were automatically generated upon receipt validation, reducing manual effort.

This automation ensured compliance with procurement policies, minimized delays, and provided management with real-time visibility into purchasing activities.

Consolidated Financial Control

Accounting posed a unique challenge, as Edge Services & Solution operated multiple companies under its umbrella. We implemented Odoo’s Accounting module with advanced features:

  • Chart of Accounts Grouping: Standardized and grouped COA across all companies for consistency.

  • Financial Consolidation: Created a consolidated report that combined financials from all entities into a single view.

  • Inter-Company Elimination: Automated elimination of inter-company transactions to prevent duplication and ensure accurate consolidated reporting.

This setup provided management with a holistic view of financial performance across the group. Consolidated reporting reduced the time required for audits and improved decision-making with transparent, real-time data.

The Odoo implementation delivered significant benefits to Edge Services & Solution:
