Based in Enschede, in the Netherlands, Tonzon is a business specialized in floor insulation, offering a warm floor and big energy savings through an innovative method. Over the years, the company started using several tools to manage its daily operations, which were therefore complex and inefficient. Looking for a way to improve the way things were dealt with, Tonzon turned to Odoo’s management system, introduced by erp|open.

A need to smoothen Tonzon’s daily operations

Founded in 1980, Tonzon is a Dutch expert in floor insulation that invented an innovative technology using motionless air to retain heat in the most efficient way. With strong values like effectiveness, innovation, customer-oriented approach and minimal environmental impact, the company has grown over the years while continuing to evolve its products to reflect the market and customers’ needs. 

To deal with its operations, Tonzon was using several solutions like Microsoft Excel and Word, a website and e-Commerce platform builder, a lead manager program, etc. Leading to a lack of efficiency and overview, this caused non-streamlined processes, and uncertainties around the stock, the warehouse status and the delivery forecasts. The team was relying too much on manual entries, and wasting time in between workflows.

Aware that it was not optimal to keep running things with disparate tools, Tonzon proceeded with a software market research in order to find the solution able to give them the boost they were looking for. That’s when the team met erp|open, an implementation partner that introduced Odoo’s company management system, a solution they had already received a strong recommendation for.

The very first step was for erp|open to carefully analyze the needs of Tonzon, and the pain points that were challenging for the team. From there, a tailor-made plan was put in place by the implementation partner to move forward step by step, in a well-thought manner.  

Within a year, from the first meeting in May 2022 and the launch of the new solution in July 2023, every module needed has been configured and refined to meet Tonzon’s expectations. 

If at first, the employees were a bit reluctant to switch to a new management system, this feeling quickly shifted as the tool was implemented. People received training, recognized the value behind the new software and became more and more enthusiastic. 

Today, Tonzon’s team is still actively expanding the ERP platform step by step, adding applications and planning to continue doing so, with modules like Quality, Helpdesk, etc.
