Its evolution has been marked by a strategic transition: moving from a traditional distribution model to a fully active e-commerce operation running 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This shift involved not only technological but also cultural transformation. The company specialized in operating within marketplaces, where it is now positioned among the top sellers on platforms such as Falabella and Dafiti.

Lack of Integration and Automation Before Odoo

Before migrating to Odoo, Pacific Sport operated with World Office, a solution that presented significant limitations, especially in integration with its e-commerce ecosystem. One of the main challenges was the lack of automation and flexibility in managing product variants, such as sizes and specific configurations.

Additionally, the connection with its marketplace integrator (Multivende) did not enable smooth, automated synchronization, resulting in manual processes and a higher risk of errors. Electronic invoicing also represented a significant cost due to its transaction-based pricing model.

From Operational Silos to End-to-End 
Integration with Odoo


The Odoo adoption process began gradually. Freddy Restrepo dedicated time to exploring the tool independently before making the final decision. Later, with the support of the partner Pragmatic, key modules, including electronic invoicing and supporting documents, were implemented.

Integration with Multivende was a critical point, resolved through custom developments that enabled automatic bidirectional synchronization. This laid the foundation for a fully connected operation.

Pragmatic, a local Odoo partner with 25 years of experience and recognized as the Gold Partner #1 in Colombia, supported Pacific Sport in implementing key modules such as electronic invoicing and supporting documents. Their role focused on ensuring regulatory compliance and providing support during critical stages, including data loading, information validation, and technical issue resolution.

 One of the pillars of the operation is inventory management with Odoo, especially relevant considering they handle around 6,000 active SKUs and more than 40,000 variants. Data structuring (including categories, brands, collections, sizes, and attributes) enables full traceability of each product.

 Previously, accessing inventory information could take hours. Today, thanks to the filters and reports configured in Odoo, the team can obtain data in seconds. This includes analysis by units sold, revenue, categories, and brands, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

 At the same time, automating the sales flow with Odoo completely transformed operations. Each purchase made in a marketplace automatically generates a sales order, the creation (if necessary) of the customer with the required fiscal information, and a logistics order in the warehouse. This process occurs without manual intervention.

 In the warehouse, Odoo’s barcode module enables picking operations on mobile devices. Once the delivery order is validated, the electronic invoice is automatically generated, sent both to the customer and to the DIAN (tax entity), and uploaded to the corresponding marketplaces.

 Electronic invoicing with Odoo was another key component. By eliminating transaction-based costs and centralizing accounting, the company achieved greater financial control and regulatory compliance without friction.

 Additionally, the use of Odoo Studio enabled the system to be adapted to specific needs without excessive development while maintaining a clean, scalable structure.

 A differentiating aspect is data traceability with Odoo, which allows analysis of the full lifecycle of each product: from its creation to its sale, including variables such as size, date, customer, and channel. This visibility is essential for managing the portfolio and brand rotation.

Next steps for Pacific Sport with Odoo

From a business perspective, Pacific Sport will continue expanding its brand portfolio and strengthening its presence in marketplaces. They are currently incorporating new high-demand brands and exploring additional integrations to sustain growth.

Regarding Odoo, the company is evaluating migrating to more recent versions to take advantage of new functionalities, including advanced integrations and opportunities for artificial intelligence applied to e-commerce.
