Pricelist rule on product category

Question

Greetings,
If I apply a pricelist rule on a product category in V17, will tue rule be applied on the  its sub-categories (children) or will I have to apply the rule on every sub-category ?

The fastest way to figure it out is to test. So, below a pricelist on product category consumable. It is also working on a product in a subcategory.

how to go from step 1 to step 2 , there is no products category

Hi,
1. Navigate to Sales > Products > Pricelists.
2. Choose the product category for which the rule should apply.
3. Set the conditions, such as price, discounts, or other criteria.
4. Manually apply the rule to each sub-category if required.
