They've had this in the "pipeline" for over a year because I hounded them about it in January of last year and was given the same "its in the pipeline" answer back then.  Unfortunately, the POS aspect of Odoo feels like it doesn't get the level of development it needs to really be a great solution.  Not being able to refund a sale using the CC provider they formally recommend is a pretty large oversight.

I know it's not appropriate to "gripe" on the help forum.  But this issue needs to be bumped up higher on the importance list for Odoo development.

Hi Sagar, unfortunately, no. I contacted Odoo support who told me this is not functional yet. They have this in the pipeline to resolve, but couldn't give me a time frame.

Any updates on this? We have tried the one in the app store and it's not working for us. Mind blowing that this is even a thing. How can Odoo not make this a priority for POS?? POS is where we get the most returns of products and it's a nightmare to deal with. We use 18 and need this fixed VERY badly. 

Odoo does not implement Stripe's refund API endpoint so it is just trying to send a negative payment.  I wrote a module to fix this and add on-reader tipping.  It is tested only for my specific environment on odoo version 17 with USD currency.  You can find it on github. Search for bizlabs/stripe_extras (I don't have karma to post link).

This is crazy that Odoo/Stripe won't communicate to do a refund.  This is standard business procedure.  Yes, there may be an "app" to buy, but this should be standard operating procedure. Extreme amount of extra work to refund to a customer.

I have the same problem. Were you able to resolve this issue? 

It almost feels like stripe Odoo refund is trying to create a payment intent with stripe instead of refund. I feel could be buggy code.
