I have the same problem. It seems like the expiration date doesn't control anything at all. This is especially bad because the draft SO's are still hanging in the forecast of the corresponding products forever. 

I can't imagine that no one has ever thought of this? I mean, the simplest thing would be to automatically cancel an expired offer and/or give it an "Expired" status.
