This behavior is usually related to channel access rights and record rule configuration. Private channels should ideally only be visible and accessible to invited members, but depending on the Odoo version and setup, users may still find or join them through search.

You should review:

• Channel privacy settings (members-only access)

• User access groups and permissions

• Record rules controlling visibility and joining permissions

If the standard configuration does not fully restrict access, a small customization may be required to prevent unauthorized users from searching, viewing, or joining private channels.

Hi,

I would first check that the channel is set as private, then review the users’ access groups and any custom record rules on discuss.channel / mail.channel.

If a non-member can search, read, or join the channel, it may be caused by a custom security rule or custom code giving broader access than expected.

Hello! Can you provide pictures of the configuration you are using? 
Some groups can have bypassing permissons...
for example, if you have someone who is a vendor with admin permissions, it may be capable of bypass a "users only" group.
