Internally, Odoo links loyalty points, rewards, and coupons to the customer's res.partner record. However, when identifying a customer at the Point of Sale or during a transaction, Odoo can use a barcode associated with a loyalty card, coupon, or customer record.
When the barcode is scanned, Odoo identifies the corresponding loyalty account and retrieves the customer's available points, rewards, or benefits. Therefore, while the underlying record is linked to the customer (partner_id), the practical identifier used during loyalty program operations is often the barcode assigned to the loyalty card or coupon.
