If both businesses belong to the same legal company, you usually do not need separate databases.

For an electronics shop and a cafeteria, you can use the same Odoo database and separate them by:

• different Point of Sale shops/sessions

• different warehouses or locations

• different product categories

• different journals/accounts

• different departments

• different access rights for users

Create a separate company only if they have different legal entities, tax IDs, accounting books, or need separate financial statements.

So if it is the same company but different departments/business units, keep one database and configure separate POS, inventory locations, products, and accounting journals.
