I'm trying to revise a BOM with some minor changes and want to set a future effective date. I have 4 stages in Kanban for this

1. New,2. WIP,3.Validated (with Apply changes option),4.Effective.

There are couple of issues that I face - 

In Validated stage, if I press the apply changes button, the BOM gets effective immediately( irrespective of the future effective date

In validation stage, If I dont press Apply changes button and just move this change into Effective stage (in Kanban), the BOM never becomes effective.

Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to set up different versions of BOM with future effective dates so that the BOM gets revised automatically based on the effective date.
