Hello!


I'm looking for a way to get information from my Sales Order to the created MO. I have found some information to do this from Ray Carnes ( Logo for Manufacturing Order? Entered on the Sale Order, shown on the Manufacturing Order? | Odoo ) but i can't seem to get it working on my database. I am not using MTO to go from SO to MO, just a production flow because it needs to be possible to produce more than the initial SO.


Anyone that has a solution for me or can help me change the configuration from Ray Carnes to make this work?

We have done that.  Used the Studio app, and then this is quite easy. 

Created a Many2One field in the production order model with relation to Sales order.  There we manually fill inn the sales order number. 

From that field you can create additional fields to get more information from the sales order, like customer name, customer reference  or any other field from the sales order.

Thanks for the information! It can be done like you showed but we are looking for something that fills in the information when SO is confirmed and when the MO gets created. There shouldn't be an manual change on the MO.

The you would need MTO process. I don't think you can manage such automation without. The manufacturing order can be a result of several requirements. As you mentioned. Then what logic would you use?

Also with MTO you can change the QTY you want to produce, to produce more than the sales order. If you set MTO on product, you get a difficult logistic process. Possible to assign free stock to an outbound delivery that originate from MTO order. Not a very effective flow.
It is also possible to set the MTO route to be selected on the sales order line. But that would also require som extra during sales order entry.
