This is a repeat of an earlier unsolved problem. My subscription renews in 3 months and I will be changing to something else if I cannot solve this. It is unusable for manufacturing if it keeps changing released jobs. A confirmed MO will have it's quantities changed on new orders. If the MO is started it does not, but that makes it so I cannot tell what is being worked on (every MO will be started). It does this on every open MO when an additional qty is added. Someone must have run across this before.

Hi,
I tested this scenario in Odoo 19 (demo.odoo) and the behavior is different from what is described.
In standard Odoo 19:
When a Manufacturing Order (MO) is confirmed but not started
And additional demand is created (new sales order or increased quantity)
Odoo does not change the quantity of the existing confirmed MO
Instead, Odoo creates a new Manufacturing Order based on the required quantity and the applicable reordering rules
So confirmed MOs are no longer resized automatically; new demand results in new MOs.
Possible reasons for different behavior
If quantities of confirmed MOs are still changing, it usually means:
An older Odoo version is being used
Custom modules are affecting procurement or manufacturing logic
The issue does not occur in a clean database
Please confirm:
The exact Odoo version
Whether this happens in a standard database without customizations
If your business requires a specific workflow (for example, freezing confirmed MOs or enforcing a custom release process), this is not configurable via settings.
However, Odoo can always be customized at the backend level to match your required manufacturing process.
Hope it helps

Previously asked here: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/replenishment-is-increasing-quanties-on-open-manufacturing-orders-instead-of-creating-new-ones-281730
I suggest you contact Odoo directly (or your partner if you have one). As I have previously commented, this used to be configurable and I don't understand why Odoo removed this functionality.
We are on V18. It looks like the V19 is what should be happening. We have a case open with odoo but they are slow to respond. The forum has been unavailable to us as well which is why this is so long in answering.
