 hi everyone, i'm struglling to set inventory in the following scenario: 

i have : 

   - Company A using Warehouse A  ( WH-A) and defaults locations

   - Company B  using Warehouse B ( WH-B) and defaults locations

Products are shared between companies. 
 

Products flow for company A doing a sell : 

WH-A/Stock to Customer

Products process when company B do a sell : 

Outgoing flow:

i need that product be provided from WH-A to customer.  (so in fact Company B, doesn't need a real warehouse and use Company A's warehouse) 

What would be the best : 

     - Set up dropshipping from Company A to customer ?

     - Set routes with inter-transit company (WH-A/Stock --> Intertransit location | Intertransit location ---> WH-B/Stock --> customer location ? 

     - anything else ? 


I've already read many odoo documentation but it doesn't give me a good view on the flow to use..

Hello Rémy Lannemajo

For such business flow, we can do transfer between two companies as below.


  • Warehouse A will be default resupply warehouse for warehouse B, so need to configure default resupply warehouse in warehouse B.

  • Now lets assume, you got 100 orders in Company B, i.e. delivered from Warehouse B. As warehouse B is a virtual warehouse, all your delivery orders will be in waiting availability.

  • Now we can develop such module which will check all waitining availability deliveries in warehose B & create Inter Company Transfer all together. That means against 100 orders only one Inter company transfer will be created.

  • In Company B, purchase order will be generated for all items & In Company A Sales order will be generated, which can be processed automatically, i.e. users not need to do anything manually.

By this way, all stock will be there in Warehouse B now & can be reserved in all those deliveries & deliver to customer.
