HOW TO TRIGER EMAIL AFTER CREATING A PO

I want an email to be sent to the Approval after PO is raised. The approval should automatically get an email alert once the junior staff creates a PO.

How can this be done please.

This can be done using automated action on purchase order model. You can add the suitable parameters to the automated action as per your requirement and select "send an email" in action to do field of the automated action. 


Edit 1 - 

Refer the screenshot below for the automated action. You can add or remove the status in domains as per your requirement. How I have configured is when a RFQ moves to approval state or if it moves to PO state, an email gets triggered to the respective vendor.

You can also enable 'Purchase Order Approval' from settings > Purchase > Orders

I don't think this is available on Version 14 anymore because I have tried it as well

The functionality does work, I tested on V15. It creates a new status on the PO (To Approve) for orders above the value that you set.

The Approve RFQ button is visible to the manager. It is likely the test user you might have used has admin access so the PO did not go into To Approve status.

Alternate process could also be to create an Activity "Approve PO" which can be set by the person creating the RFQ assigned to manager or have an automated action to assign the activity. Since you might also need to track if the approver 'has approved' subsequent to reading the email

I just retried it. It moves to approval, but the email wasnt sent automatically to the approval.
The email was stuck in odoo

If email is stuck, then, you may have to check your outgoing mail server configuration. Try sending the stuck mail manually, you will get to know if mail server is configured correctly or not
