Some members of my team say that they never need to look at the chatter, so it just takes space on their screen.

Therefore, my best case scenario is that I can add a button that will temporarily hide the chatter for that user only. My second best case is that the admin can hide the chatter for some users permanently.

Alternatively your team members can also zoom in/out while in each screen to adjust and only see the record. Since Odoo dynamically adjusts to the resolution of your devices screen it will disappear if you're zoomed in close enough.

That may be an easier solution.

It would be great if there were a button for the user to hide the chatter. One of my customers uses a lot of fields in the sales order lines section (and yes, there are valid reasons why they do so). Zooming in the screen doesn't solve my customer's issue as they still have to use the horizontal scroll bar to see all the fields on the sales order lines. Having a button to hide the chatter would give them more screen real estate to view the fields they need to without having to scroll.
