Hello,

I have only one warehouse. This is shared by multiple companies. I want to create and assign locations(like shelf) to companies.

I have set these values for new location:

  • Location Name: TestShelf 1

  • Parent Location: GE/Stock

  • Location Type: Customer Location

  • Company: Company B

GE warehouse and GE/Stock location belong to parent(Company A) company. When i want to create a location record like this i get this error.

Access Error

Due to security restrictions, you are not allowed to create 'Inventory Locations' (stock.location) records. Records: GE/Stock/Test Shelf 1(id=75) User: XXXX YYYYY(id=8) This restriction is due to the following rules: - Location multi-company Note: this might be a multi-company issue. Contact your administrator to request access if necessary.

Thank you for your answer.

We run a 3PL warehouse and store customers' products in our warehouse. So we need to allocate location for their products in same(our) warehouse. When customers' receive an order, we ship it from our warehouse.

I'm not sure that creating locations is the best option in a multicompany enviroment. What about creating several warehouses? Odoo provides you a main warehouse for each company you set. 

However, the error that appears is due to the user's lack of permission to create the location.
Try creating it with the Administrator user, or giving this user sufficient permissions. (I think that "Inventory/Administrator" rights are needed)
