Hi,
I’m using Odoo Calendar with Outlook synchronization enabled.
I’m facing an issue when creating events with participants:
Event with only myself → OK, synced to Outlook
Event with myself + participants with valid emails → OK
Event with myself + participants without any valid email → ❌ event is NOT created in Outlook
It seems Outlook tries to create a meeting, but since there are no valid attendees (only myself), the event fails instead of being created as an appointment.
I still need to keep those contacts as participants (for CRM tracking), even if they don’t have an email.
Is there a standard way in Odoo to:
keep participants without email in the event
but avoid blocking Outlook synchronization?
Without custom development if possible.
Thanks in advance for your help !
Best regards,
Franck
Hi Santosh,
Thank you for your clear explanation, that makes sense 👍
I understand the limitation with Outlook and how meetings are handled when attendees are involved.
However, in my use case, users are likely to add participants without emails quite frequently, which leads to silent failures (event not created in Outlook), and that can be confusing.
Since I would prefer to avoid any custom development, I’m wondering if you’ve seen any practical workaround in standard Odoo, such as preventing the creation of a meeting when no valid attendee email is provided.
Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
Franck
