I am thinking of setting up a Product (consumable/service) with a negative price to use as a global discount/coupon.

Can anyone suggestions of the consequences? I am using all features with Odoo (Sales,Account,Purchase,Inventory,POS). 


What issues will be running into later? Will Accounting report will be correct? etc.

Hey Alex,

I've been using the global discount with a separate Service product for quite some time now, and this seems to be working really well. The best part is that the accounting will be managed accurately. For sales, the income accounts will be credited for the actual sale amount and the discount account will be debited for the discount amount using this method, which in turns makes accounting reports perfect.
