In Sales > Send by Email smart button, i want to remove the Ecommerce: Cart Recovery from the dropdown. I did this in the code but it did not removed it from the list.

You need to inherit the mainly name_search method and handle the records using a domain, since the records are displaying in Many2one field through it.

Hi,


Hiding the ir.model.data record does not remove a mail template from the Sales email dropdown.

The dropdown shows all active mail.template records linked to the sale.order model.

The “Ecommerce: Cart Recovery” template appears because its model is sale.order.

To hide it, set the template’s field active = False in mail.template.

That is the easiest and correct way to remove it from the dropdown.

XML changes in ir.model.data will not work because Odoo ignores that for template selection.
