Hi,

I am struggling with the Consolidation Set Up in Odoo 19

I read the article https://www.odoo.com/documentation/19.0/applications/finance/accounting/get_started/consolidation.html?highlight=consolidation

Struggles: 

  1. I created on my parent company a multi ledger called Consolidation : when I select the multi ledger made for Consolidation I don't see data for the other entities despite I have them selected right above.

  2. Furthermore I have overhead expenses in my local susbsidiaries mapped to the Parent Chart of account which are cost of revenue there. However those accounts are duplicated and are shown under expenses from my local entities. I already changed the setting from Account.ID to Account.Code on each report line but I still face the same issue.


I am not sure what I did wrong in the set up . ( I don't use the merge account option however I understood this is optional and we can use the mapping for consolidation)

  1. Hi thank you a lot for the information. Can you explain me where I need to check this. Eg when I go to multi-ledgers I have one Consolidated leger created but I can only link it to one company. 
  2. Missing data from subsidiaries
    Ensure that:
  • All subsidiary companies are properly included in the consolidation scope
  • The multi-ledger is correctly linked to those companies
  • Consolidation journals/entries are generated (data won’t appear automatically without this step)

They are independent companies. I did select all the companies in the multiselector and I did the mapping to the chart of account of the company we want to use the Chart of Account.


We don't use the parent company functionality in Odoo. Maybe it is related to this.

Hi Sofie,

  • Are you structuring the entities as a company and branches or are they independent companies? When you see "those accounts are duplicated and are shown under expenses from my local entities", it seems like the local company is a branch, and mapping is not necessary.
  • When you create a ledger group, and assigning journals, make sure that all the consolidated companies are selected.

Your issue seems related to configuration gaps in both the multi-ledger setup and account mapping for consolidation.

  1. Missing data from subsidiaries
    Ensure that:
  • All subsidiary companies are properly included in the consolidation scope
  • The multi-ledger is correctly linked to those companies
  • Consolidation journals/entries are generated (data won’t appear automatically without this step)
  1. Duplicate / misclassified accounts
    This typically happens when:
  • Account mapping between subsidiaries and parent is inconsistent
  • Even with Account Code, the parent chart must have a clear one-to-one mapping with subsidiary accounts
  • Check if multiple subsidiary accounts are pointing to different parent accounts unintentionally

You’re right that the merge option is optional, but correct mapping is critical for accurate results.
