Greetings Odoo Community,
Is there a way through which Odoo keeps track of product purchased/manfuactured at specified packagings? Presume for example I have a product A with a base UoM of kg, and I purchase product A from a variety of vendors at a variety of packagings (10 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg, 50 kg).
The table above shows an example of successive purchases of the product at the varying packagings. Practically, when storing product A in the warehouse, each purchase will naturally be kept with its original packaging. However (as far I can tell), in Odoo the inventory application will revert all transfers to the base UoM of the product and stores the sum total of 450 kg, with no clear way of knowing how much of each individual packaging is left. Either in the product card or the inventory reporting tools.
Knowing the collective sum is useful for keeping a tally on how much overall remaining of a product is in stock, for replenishment rules and audits and similar. But it also vitally important to know how much of separate packagings is left in the warehouse. If a customer wishes to buy five 50 kg bags of product A, the warehouse manager has no immediate way of knowing through the system that there are only four bags held in stock.
Is there a methodology in Odoo that tackles this case of needing to track multiple packagings of the same product?
