Hi there,

There is no option for the task to be completed in Odoo v8.

This ist an old thread but with v16 it took a while to understand the process.

A task is marked as complete if it is in a stage which is set as collapsed in the kanban view. 

Hope that helps some people that are new here.

There is an option called "Done" in project task.

When the task is completed you can move it to Done state.
