Turn-off Automatic Emails

Question

Dear Odoo Experts,
I started using the Recruitment application, within it you have your 'Applicants'. However, when making these applicants and changing their status etc they get automatic emails. I want to turn these off. I saw that going to Settings > Technical > Subtypes was an option and removing all the defaults, this did not work. Any other ideas?
Also a less pressing issue: If you make an applicant, automatically a contact is generated. Is there a way to turn this off? I only want that to

Issue is solved. Under Recruitment > Configuration > Stages. When you click on the stage 'First Interview' you can remove the Email templates per stage. So they won't send when going to the next sage.
Issue two go to Studio, click on View, and go to 'Invisible Elements'. The partner_id will show up with the same name as the Applicant name. Remove this field from your view and done, no more automatic contact generation
