In Switzerland, the VAT changes once again on January 1st next year.
We have now noticed that it seems impossible to set an expiration date on taxes. Is there a way to use automatically a new value for the tax from a given date?

Unfortunately it is not possible to set a date on the tax (and also not on the fiscal position, that's why I suggested to contact Odoo).
The changes need to be done manually, and to avoid a big manual work (change it in all products/services), a solution would be to create the new taxes (by duplicating/adjusting) and adapt the Fiscal position on 01.01.2024, e.g.:

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, this does not solve the issue entirely. I will get in tocuh with Odoo support in this case.
We have situations where we sell a subscription or similar articals with a duration of one year. This means that the remaining days until 3.1.12.2023 need to be calculated with the old tax, then from Janaury 1st with the new tax. This is currently impossible to achieve in Odoo and it would be very important to have this possibility. I am quite surprised that taxes in Odoo have no date.
Thanks for your suggestion though - this might indeed help for the rest and save some manual work.

Did you get a solution?
Odoo has created the new rates and reports (needs a update), but a solution is still open for Subscriptions and also for webshops where the new rate should apply from 00:00 on 01.01.2024.

We still haven't found a way to set an expiration date for taxes. Does Odoo support this at all or do we need a custom module for this?
