EMSC – Emergency Medicine & Support Center
The Emergency Medicine and Support Center (EMSC) is a leading humanitarian medical institution under the Libyan Ministry of Health, dedicated to delivering comprehensive emergency response and healthcare services to those affected by armed conflict, natural disasters, and crises within Libya. Equipped with field hospitals, mobile clinics, ambulance evacuation teams, and fixed health centers across the country, EMSC has treated tens of thousands of patients needing urgent medical attention.
EMSC’s mission is to provide rapid, effective emergency care and humanitarian aid while ensuring accurate documentation of casualties, injuries, and displacement in compliance with national and international standards. The organization also works to uphold the dignity and human rights of the wounded and displaced through public awareness campaigns and strict adherence to humanitarian principles.
Additionally, EMSC has been actively involved in pivotal initiatives such as safe medical evacuations during conflict, as well as large-scale humanitarian efforts—most notably providing medical teams and extensive support during the 1446H Hajj, tending to over 8,000 Libyan pilgrims across a 50-day mission.
Headquartered in Tripoli with 24/7 toll-free contact (1412), EMSC remains at the forefront of Libya’s emergency response ecosystem, partnering with bodies like WHO and international aid agencies to strengthen national preparedness and disaster resilience.
