Hello here!

Here is our own solution to this problem we had since many montHOW TO UPDATE OUR ODOO FILE

1) We won't use Github anymore to update our Odoo files.

2) We will download the latest src files at 

3) Use a kind of file structure like this one :

• In addons_ext, all the modules we download on odoo app site;

• In addons_pt, all our own modules;

• One folder for each downloaded Odoo version on https://nightly.odoo.com/8.0/nightly/src/
  

4) Put a line like this in your /etc/odoo/openerp-server-test.conf

• addons_path = /home/odoo-test/addons_pt,/home/odoo-test/addons_ext,/home/odoo-test/odoo-8.0-20150503/openerp/addons
  

5) run odoo with a line like this one in terminal :

• killall -v python -u odoo-test; clear; /home/odoo-test/odoo-8.0-20150503/openerp-server -c /etc/odoo/openerp-server-test.conf -db_user=odoo-test --db_password=ozzyest --log-level=info --db-filter=03test --database=03test
  

6) And now, we know which build version is running in the terminal, where we run Odoo server.

We think it is easy to implement, simple and flexible enough for future update.
