Odoo Security - A Retrospective

After studying and earning a PhD in Computer Science, Raphael joined Odoo (then OpenERP). In those days, he made various contributions, including usability improvements. He then moved to the "Framework" team, where he designed and implemented the new model API in Python, which was released in version 8.0. To this day, he continues maintaining and improving the server-side framework, in particular its performance.
The talk compares Odoo with other ORMs and explains why Odoo is different. The main factor in the development of Odoo's ORM was the development methodology that underlies Odoo's ERP, which is its modular approach to integrated applications. Most of Odoo's specific features serve that purpose, and make the design and implementation of its ORM very different than state-of-the-art ORMs.
